Solids and Fluids DIsposal
At our Halfway Facility, located between Hobbs, NM and Carlsbad,
NM, CRI disposes and recycles all types of non-hazardous oilfield
waste from produced salt water to drilling mud and cuttings. In
those cases where a unique or uncommon waste product exists we
can provide testing and documentation (such as a Material Safety
Data Sheets, or MSDS) prior to making a decision on whether or
not we can properly dispose of such waste streams.
Solid wastes placed into our landfill disposal site. Some
solid wastes may require additional solidification prior to permanent
disposal in the landfill. Produced water is placed into our
SWD system. However, it has been our experience that water
vacuumed off of a reserve pit in particular can cause significant
damage to our SWD system. Therefore, CRI finds it necessary
to clearly define produced water as water generated from a completed,
producing well stored in tanks on producing leases. PW does
not include fluids from workover or drilling operations, flowback,
reserve pits, overflow pits, mud pits, salt-water disposals, sumps,
yard pits, wash-out pits, gas plants, refineries, gathering systems,
or compressor stations no matter how clear it may appear.
