Closed Loop System
CRI is the largest operator in the Permian Basin of closed loop
rig sets which collect waste during the exploration and production
of oil and gas. These rig sets consist of three 20-yard, top-sealed
rig bins and a set of rails. At any time, there are two bins
on the rails. Once one is filled, the driller can move the flow
of waste to the other on-site bin without shutting down the drilling
rig.
By eliminating the need to dig a reserve pit, the closed
loop system minimizes the costs associated with excavation and
lining, as well as clean up and site remediation. During closure,
reserve pits are often blended with fresh soil thereby increasing
the volume of contaminated soil to be disposed. Closed loop systems
eliminate the need for this blending thereby reducing the volume
of contaminated soil and decreasing disposal costs when compared
to dig and haul alternatives. Additionally, closed loop systems
prevent the drilling waste from ever touching the ground thereby
significantly limiting the operator’s future liability
(and ensuring landowner approval).
CRI’s Closed Loop Systems eliminate today’s high
costs associated with excavating, lining and fencing a proper
reserve pit, while significantly reducing your potential future
environmental liability. Additionally, our Closed Loop Systems
can reduce the overall volume of waste generated, which in turn
helps reduce your transportation, disposal and site remediation
costs.
